Las Vegas, NV (June 10, 2016)—At InfoComm, dBTechnologies introduced its VIO line array system.
The L 210, built around a 63 lbs. wooden enclosure, is a 2-way active system equipped with two 10-inch neodymium woofers and a titanium dome 3-inch neodymium compression driver. The two transducers, positioned in a V form and sealed in a bass reflex wooden enclosure, have been custom designed to improve efficiency, with voice coils made of aluminium coated copper.
A single 3-inch voice coil compression driver (1.4-inch exit throat) delivers high frequencies, while a brand-new waveguide contributes to create a cylindrical wavefront. The acoustic enclosure is completed by two aluminium phase plugs located in front of both woofers. Each phase plug features 26 diamond-shaped holes aimed at reducing interference between the two LF emission points while improving frequency and transient response.
The module features a Class D Digipro G3 900W amplifier reportedly capable of achieving up to 135 dB SPL. The VIO L210 comes with a built-in 3-point rigging system. The dedicated flying frame DRK 210 comes with 2 hooks whose design allows to set a more precise inclination of the array. The DRK 210 can also serve as a groundstacking accessory to secure VIOL210 cabinets on a VIO S310 subwoofer. When not in use, the flying frame can be fixed and stored on the top lid of DT-VIOL210 transport cart.
The VIO series is completed by VIO S318 subwoofer, based around three 18-inch bassreflex half-horn loaded woofers, whose voice coils are aligned to aid phase response. The three Digipro G3 amplifiers deliver a total of 2700 W power, allowing the system to reach up to 143 dB SPL.
