Las Vegas, NV (April 9, 2019)—At the 2019 NAB Show, Shure has released TwinPlex, a new line of subminiature omnidirectional lavalier and headset microphones.
The new patent-pending, 5 mm capsule technology is intended for use in theater, broadcast, film and television, and corporate presentations. The line is built around four lavaliers (TL45, TL46, TL47, TL48) and an adjustable headset microphone (TH53) in multiple colors. TwinPlex derives its name from its dual-diaphragm, omnidirectional design, employed to provide off-axis consistency.
Available in 1.1 mm and 1.6 mm options, the paintable TwinPlex cable are built with spiral construction with redundant shielding to ensure they won’t kink. The cables also sport a superhydrophobic coating and interchangeable sweat-resistant frequency caps to keep perspiration and moisture from affecting audio.
“In developing TwinPlex, we gathered valuable input from leading industry professionals at every stage of the process and extensively tested prototypes to ensure we were ready,” stated John Born, senior global product manager at Shure. “This resulted in a comprehensive portfolio of more than 60 versions in a variety of color, connector, cable, frequency response and sensitivity to meet the demands of any application when you need amazing sound quality and unprecedented durability.”
