HK's LUCAS range gains a highly-capable Bluetooth-ready portable PA.

Anaheim, CA (January 20, 2016)—Distributed by Korg in North America, German pro audio manufacturer HK Audio has introduced its Lucas Nano 608i, “the first high-end, all-in-one system with an iPad-enabled wireless mixer and Bluetooth technology built-in,” according to the company’s press-only, pre-NAMM 2016 announcement at the nearby Sheraton Park Hotel.

Intended to be easy to carry, the 36 lb., 460 W (peak) Lucas Nano 608i provides an integrated eight-channel digital mixer in its subwoofer, controlled in two ways: either conventionally on the 608i itself via physical knobs or wirelessly via HK Audio’s iPad app, providing many wireless mixing options.

Onboard the 608i’s subwoofer is comprehensive I/O including four XLR/TRS and instrument combo inputs (two providing phantom power), dual TRS inputs, stereo RCA inputs, dual TRS outputs, Aux Send and Footswitch TRS connectivity, and more. Each passive satellite “top” features a 4.5-inch broadband woofer and 1-inch tweeter; its active 10-inch subwoofer powers the tops. Features include HK Audio’s proprietary Multicell Transformer (MCT) and Anti-Resonance Bracing (ARB) technologies, providing large HF horn-rivialing performance in a small package and power efficiency, respectively, confirms HK Audio; fully parametric and “drawable” EQs, compressors and reverbs (with seven presets); an intuitive Easy Mode featuring presets (featuring the likes of one-knob compressors, etc.) or Expert Mode for unrestricted and deep manipulation; light weight and small footprint; and more. Set up and configuration options abound including Compact Mono (sub and top, no pole); Mono (sub and top on pole); Stereo (sub and dual tops on stands); and Twin Stereo (dual subs and dual tops on poles).
