Anaheim, CA (January 21, 2016)—IK Multimedia has teamed with Lurssen Mastering to create Lurssen Mastering Console, a mastering tool intended for musicians creating their own masters.
Grammy-winning mastering engineer Gavin Lurssen, Reuben Cohen and the team at Lurssen Mastering in Los Angeles, CA created a virtual mastering processor chain with parameters that can be recalled as 20 different templates ("Styles") that reflect they use for mastering hip-hop, rock, pop, Americana, country and more. The mastering software reportedly includes digital mastering processors that emulate interactions between each processor in the chain.
Controls include an Input Drive knob, five band EQ and special "Push" knob, which lets users "ride" the flow of the song, making subtle and uniform EQ adjustments. Adjustments to the Input Gain and Push knob can be recorded and automated. Changes to the five band EQ can be saved as presets on top of the Lurssen Mastering styles. Recorded automation can be viewed and edited. The software offers 88.2/96kHz DSP processing and exports in various file formats like AAC, WAV, FLAC and others. It also allows for quick export to File Sharing, SoundCloud and more.
