Anaheim, CA (January 19, 2017)—Mobile musicians flocked to IK Multimedia’s iRig personal mobile audio/MIDI interface when it was released a few years ago; now the company is updating that with the new iRig Pro I/O, which brings together a high-definition audio I/O, preamp, MIDI input/output, and software bundle. It will bow in April at $149.
iRig Pro I/O lets users record 24-bit audio at up to 96 kHz sample rate; its preamp features a marked precision input gain control to adapt to an array of input signals. Meanwhile, a multi-color LED indicator allows users to optimize the input gain level and monitor input signal to prevent clipping.
The interface includes MIDI input and output ports to add connectivity with MIDI keyboards, controllers, synths, sound modules and more to record MIDI tracks, control virtual instruments, use control surfaces, connect outboard sound modules and more. The multi-color LEDs on iRig Pro I/O provide a visual of MIDI in/out activity.
For real-time monitoring, iRig Pro I/O features a high quality 1/8-inch headphone/line output with level control; the unit also sports a Neutrik XLR/?-inch combo input that lets users plug in all their gear, and available 48V phantom power means that includes the ability to use condenser or active ribbon microphones. The iRig itself can be powered via its USB port, by two AA batteries or a new DC in port.
The iRig also comes with a selection of full software from IK Multimedia’s library, incluidng AmpliTube 4, AmpliTube for iPhone and iPad, SampleTank 3 SE and T-RackS Deluxe with Mic Room.
