Now distributed in the U.S. and Canada by FDW-Worldwide, British audio manufacturer Audient has unveiled its mixing console, the Zen, which offers analog signal paths and moving fader automation alongside DAW I/O integration. Main features of the 16- or 32-channel Zen mixers include two inputs per channel, DAW recording output per channel, L/R mix bus, two stereo busses, two mono busses, four auxes, two cue sends, and a stereo compressor. Zen’s signal path is based on Audient’s ASP8024 console.
Meanwhile, the included bus compressor allows dynamic control of the main stereo mix, with the added ability to access the compressor externally via the rear-panel connections. Parallel compression can be applied using the Wet/Dry control to combine uncompressed signal with the compressed mix, and two stage compression can be achieved by inserting an external compressor into one of the stereo bus or mix paths. A digital output option offers AES and S/PDIF outputs with up to 192 kHz/24-bit conversion.
