Beaverton, OR (December 13, 2017)—Audio Precision has introduced a series of calibrated measurement microphones as a complement to the APx line of audio analyzers, software and accessories.

The AP microphone family includes two half-inch and two quarter-inch measurement mics, as well as an occluded ear simulator. All units are pre-polarized, TEDS-compliant and CCP powered. The microphones are calibrated and are delivered with certificates of calibration.

Each Audio Precision measurement microphone and microphone system is TEDS programmed to the IEEE 1451.4 standard for SMART transducers, v1.0 format. TEDS—Transducer Electronic Data Sheet—data contains microphone identification and calibration information that can be read by a connected instrument, such as the Audio Precision APx1701 Transducer Test Interface.

The microphones are pre-polarized in an effort to provide a lower cost per channel (cabling, power supplies, and preamplifiers), as well as to make them more suitable for changing humidity.
