Solon, OH (February 21, 2017)—Reissuing its patent number 185,712 during the company’s 85th anniversary celebration, CAD Audio unveiled a modern take on the distinctive A77, a supercardioid large diaphragm dynamic side address microphone.
It’s “a modern tribute to the original capsule,” notes CAD, as the mic now features the company’s trademarked PowerGap high gauss magnet and TrueFlex diaphragm.
Specifications of the A77 include a 30 Hz – 15 kHz frequency response, -48 dBV (3.56 mV) @ 1Pa sensitivity, 500 ohm impedance, and a maximum SPL of >150 dB.
Meanwhile, CAD’s A77R is a large format ribbon microphone within the retro aesthetics of the A77 body, also featuring PowerGap high gauss magnets.
The A77 dynamic and A77R ribbon are priced at $249 and $349, respectively.
