Lake Hiawatha, NJ (Aug 30, 2017)—Following the introduction of its Arousor plug-in in 2016, Empirical Labs (ELI) has announced availability of its Version 2.0 with a bevy of new features and improvements, including AAX-DSP support for Mac OS.

The Arousor is billed as Empirical Labs' “classic knee compression in a plug-in,” complete with ELI’s distinct white knobs with parameter readout and direct entry; proprietary ELI Detector modeling; broadband Saturator; trademarked AtMod Attach Modification Control, which changes the shape of its initial compressor attack with attack lengthening time flexibility; Rivet “brick wall” ratio setting; 18 presets (with more reportedly on the way); and much more.

Notably, Empirical Labs is offering a special introductory $100 discount for the next 30 days—until September 30, 2017—via the company website. The Arousor plug-in is normally priced at $349. Existing Arousor owners will be able to download the new Rev 2.0 release for free, and Arousor software updates are free until 2020.

According to ELI, key features of Arousor’s 2.0 revision include greater CPU efficiency; increased bargraph accuracy; a preset sharing function, allowing use even via email; visual and GUI updates; refined markings for matching Distressor Detector settings; improved support for control surfaces, including older Avid D-Command UIs; and more.

Empirical Labs has utilized the Arousor v.2.0 revision to introduce its new “Expert” button, which are teased as panels “to thrill Arousor users many times over the next few years.” Arousor’s Blend section offers an Expert button, which is a panel with a new control “to allow perfect matching of levels between Compressed and Dry signals."
