Sydney, Australia (March 21, 2014)—Fairlight’s new EVO.Live console broadens the company’s focus from post production into on-air broadcast and live production applications.
The EVO.Live mixing console’s compact, modular design is intended for OB trucks, performing arts venues, houses of worship and broadcast facilities. But its capabilities extend beyond live production, also offering recording facilities, a built-in cart machine for flying in sound effects, control extensions to lighting systems, third-party DAWs and sound library databases, and off-line preparation via laptop. EVO.Live can additionally be fully reconfigured as a post-production system to provide automated audio editing with video integration, plug-ins and sophisticated 3D surround panning.
The console is available in different chassis or table-mount configurations from 12 to 60 faders. The ergonomic control surface design with touch TFT monitors offers immediate access to all critical live functions.
EVO.Live supports mix-minus routing, flexible busing, advanced communications and metering. Dual-operator functionality enables independent access to individual sets of fader, solo, channel selection and monitoring controls.
Audio processing takes place in Fairlight’s FPGA-based Crystal Core audio engine, providing high channel and bus counts with low latency. The compact 2U Live Audio Processor includes a range of built-in I/O. A choice of modular remote I/O is also available.
The system maintains full redundancy with automatic takeover in the event of component failure. A second hot-swappable FPGA-based engine with dual-input power supplies may be added for system reliability.
Fairlight’s interactive control surface includes Picture Keys which self-label instantly for each task performed, displaying the right commands and functions at the right time. In addition, Fairlight’s new iCAN (Integrated Control Across Network) technology provides the operator with an editor to design fully customized layouts.
Fairlight will unveil EVO.Live at the 2014 NAB Show.
