New York, NY (March 17, 2016)—Focusrite’s latest is the Red 4Pre, a 28 input/32 output (60 x 64 with Dante Card) dual Thunderbolt 2 and Pro Tools|HD audio interface featuring four of the newly redesigned Red microphone preamps.

The Red pres can be digitally controlled, for setting recall and stereo linking via Focusrite Control software.

Red 4Pre’s mic pres also include the ‘Air’ function, recalling the transformer-based mic preamps of the ISA range.

When ‘Air’ is enabled, the microphone impedance is set to 2.1k ohms, and the frequency response curve is given a subtle mid-high boost–all in the analog domain.

The preamps provide up to 57dB of and offer individual phantom power, setting recall, stereo linking, HPF, polarity invert and the aforementioned Air mode.
