New York, NY (July 2, 2019)—Focusrite has updated its Scarlett range of USB interfaces, introducing its new third-generation of the line today with six new units—Solo, 2i2, 4i4, 8i6, 18i8 or 18i20.
All the units feature brand-new Scarlett mic preamps based around 24-bit/192kHz converters; and the Air effect of Focusrite’s original ISA mic preamp, intended to provide vocals and acoustic music with a more spacious sound.
The new 4i4 and 8i6 add more line I/O vs the 2nd Gen 2i4 and 6i6. New Solo and 2i2 Studio Packs are also available, with Scarlett HP60 MkIII headphone and CM25 MkIII condenser microphone included – perfect for starting your recording journey.
The units reportedly provide low USB latency, allowing users to record and monitor in real time with numerous plug-ins in place. Along with that, the interfaces also sport Type-C USB connection via a supplied USB-C to USB-A cable.
Other features include additional line-level inputs for flexible recording setups, balanced TRS outputs to eliminate speaker hum, a Quick Start tool to aid initial setup and driver installation, and more.
Every Scarlett interface comes with software tools, including Ableton Live Lite; Avid Pro Tools | First Focusrite Creative Pack; free three-month Splice Sounds subscription; XLN Audio Addictive Keys; Focusrite Red Plug-in Suite; and Softube Time & Tone Bundle. The units also include a two-year warranty and membership of the Focusrite Plug-In Collective, offering regular free software downloads and discounts.
