The series offers features that provide precise pattern control to below 400 Hz and low frequency extension to 54 Hz.

Rochester, NY (May 25, 2018)—Fulcrum Acoustic has unveiled its new FH15 full-range coaxial horns.

The FH15 Series 2-way, coaxial horn systems offer a 15" horn-loaded woofer and 4" diaphragm compression driver in an effort to provide precise pattern control to below 400 Hz and low frequency extension to 54 Hz.

"The proprietary straight horns engineered for the FH Series represent a modern DSP-aware update to the traditional horn-in-horn coaxial loudspeaker concept," said Fulcrum Acoustic co-founder and vice president of R&D David Gunness. "They were designed from the ground up to take advantage of our Temporal Equalization (TQ) DSP techniques which eliminate midrange colorations and high frequency harshness while producing a smooth, seamless coverage pattern through the crossover range."

A 4" diaphragm compression driver is used to enable operation at frequencies too low for smaller compression drivers to handle. According to the company, this allows the high frequency (HF) horn to smooth the polar response of the low frequency section in the frequency range where the HF horn would otherwise cause shadowing.

The speakers are intended for a range of applications, including sports facilities, performing art centers, night clubs, theme parks, and larger houses of worship.

FH1565 (60° x 45°) and FH1596 (90° x 60°) models are shipping and Fulcrum reports that more horns are currently in development.
