Deerfield Beach, FL (May 25, 2011)-KRK has debuted its 12sHO and 12s powered subwoofers.
The 12sHO cabinet features a 12-inch, high-excursion, woven Kevlar driver cone set in a curved baffle front plate which aims to eliminate diffraction distortion. The front-firing port is described as providing "low-frequency extension while reducing boundary coupling and port turbulence." The integrated power amplifier is spec'd at 400w RMS and yielding SPL of 113 dB music and 116 dB peak.
The crossover is a fixed, high-pass 80 Hz with a subwoofer low-pass filter control variable from 60 Hz to 160 Hz, yielding a spec'd frequency range of 29 to 160 Hz. Controls include LFE input gain, a bypass footswitch connection, phase-reverse switch and variable phase-adjust capabilities, with XLR/TRS inputs and XLR outputs.
The KRK12s features a curved front baffle and 12-inch woofer mated with a 225W RMS-rated internal amp spec'd at yielding 110 dB music and 113 dB peak SPL. The line-out, high-pass crossover is fixed at 80 Hz with a subwoofer low-pass filter variable from 50 Hz to 130 Hz. Controls include a system volume adjustment with a range of -30 dB to +6 dB, bypass, phase reverse and ground lift switch, with XLR/TRS/RCA inputs and XLR/RCA outputs.
