Las Vegas, NV (May 27, 2016)—Summer is when all the sequels come out, but this one won’t be at your local multiplex. L-Acoustics will debut its new Kiva II, a new ultra-compact modular line source, at InfoComm 2016.

According to the French loudspeaker manufacturer, the Kiva II adds 6 dB of max SPL versus its predecessor, maximizes amplifier density with 16 ohm impedance, and sports a new enclosure material.

The Kiva II features L-Acoustics’ Wavefront Sculpture Technology, giving it a long throw capability; its coplanar transducer arrangement and new K-shaped coplanar transducer configuration reportedly generates a symmetric horizontal coverage of 100 degrees without secondary lobes over the entire frequency range.

Weighing 31 pounds (14 kg), the Kiva II will be on display during InfoComm16 at the Las Vegas Convention Center at L-Acoustics booth number C12116 from June 8 to 10, 2016.

“Our new Kiva II keeps the elegance of its predecessor, but that’s where the comparison ends,” explains Cédric Montrezor, director of application, Installation at L-Acoustics. “Delivering an extra 6 dB, the new model offers an impressive peak SPL of 137 dB. With only a ‘1.5 dB’ price increase, Kiva II is now the SPL-to-size ratio benchmark in its format category.”
