New York (April 1, 2010)–Mackie has announced a free driver upgrade that connects Onyx-i FireWire Production Mixers with Pro Tools M-Powered 8.
Mackie launched the Onyx-i series mixers last fall, with the notable benefit of Pro Tools M-Powered 8 compatibility. The Mackie Universal Driver Upgrade (which enables Pro Tools M-Powered 8 functionality) is a download from the Mackie website, which usually costs $49.99. Through May 31, 2010, this driver will be free; according to the company, users who purchase Onyx-i mixers can go to the company’s website, register their new mixer and download the Mackie Universal Driver Upgrade without charge.
Additionally, there is a Onyx-i mail-in rebate running during the same dates. From April 1 to May 31, 2010, users who buy an Onyx 820i can get back $50.00; an Onyx 1220i gets $75.00 back; Onyx 1620is get back $100.00; and a Onyx 1640i will get $200.00 back. Also, if the customer also purchases Pro Tools M-Powered 8 (or any other compatible recording software) at the same time, they get an additional $25.00.
The rebates will be valid for U.S. residents only who purchase any Onyx-i Series Mixers from an Authorized U.S. Dealer between April 1 and May 31, 2010. For the additional $25.00, they must purchase compatible software at the same time, on the same receipt.
