Messe/PL+S To Get Major Revamp in 2018

Messe Frankfurt has announced a reconfigured layout for its annual Musikmesse and Prolight + Sound trade fair, ultimately for the benefit of audio, recording and DJ-oriented exhibitors as well as live, PA and fixed audio system exhibitors, too. With a new and central presentation platform, these audio, recording and DJ exhibitors—who, in the past, were spread over several halls at the combination Messe/PL+S event—will all be located within Hall 4.1.

Frankfurt, Germany (October 5, 2017)—Messe Frankfurt has announced an aggressively reconfigured layout for its annual Musikmesse and Prolight + Sound trade fair, aiming to better serve audio, recording and DJ-oriented exhibitors as well as live, PA and fixed audio system exhibitors, too. With a new, central presentation platform, these audio, recording and DJ exhibitors—who, in the past, were spread over several halls at the combination Messe/PL+S event—will all be located within Hall 4.1.

As a result, according to Messe Frankfurt, products such as “microphones, effects and signal processors, cables, mixing desks, control units, monitoring tools, production tools and recording hardware and software” will be conveniently next door to Prolight + Sound’s live sound/PA and fixed installation products, in Hall 3.1.

The advantages of this new layout will include shorter walking distances for both audio recording and live sound-curious visitors, as well as “optimum target-group reachability for exhibitors…in the heart of Frankfurt Fair and Exhibition Centre,” according to the organization. “Hall 4.1 will be a component part of both Musikmesse and Prolight + Sound and, therefore, integrated into the visitor marketing and information services of both events, from the exhibitor search engine to apps and the official catalogue.”

According to Messe Frankfurt, manufacturers including Antelope Audio, Audio Precision, Bigger Boat Distribution, Cordial, ES-ProAudio, InEar, Ferrofish, Klotz AIS, Microtech Gefell, Sommer Cable and Warm Audio, have already registered.

“The synergies generated by Musikmesse and Prolight + Sound are a decisive factor behind the success of the two events,” says Michael Biwer, Group Show Director of the 'Entertainment, Media & Creative Industries' Business Unit of Messe Frankfurt. “Bringing together the various parts of the audio, DJ and recording product segment in Hall 4.1 will reinforce these positive effects. The new concept for Hall 4.1 is the result of numerous discussions with companies from the sector.”

Also part of Hall 4.1 will be the ‘Silent Stage’ area, which was launched in 2017, providing stage concept for clean sound and effective monitoring, as well as the Sound & Recording Lounge, which will offer lectures on mixing, miking and production. Other events in cooperation with the exhibitors are being planned.

Hall 4.1 will be open from April 11-14, 2018, Wednesday to Saturday, on all days of Musikmesse.

Messe Frankfurt is the world’s largest trade fair, congress and event organizer with its own exhibition grounds. Touting over 2,300 employees at some 30 locations, the company generates reported annual sales of around €647 million. With its headquarters in Frankfurt am Main, the company is owned by the City of Frankfurt (60 percent) and the State of Hesse (40 percent).
