New York, NY (June 22, 2016)—MXL Microphones’ new MXL DX-2 Variable Dynamic Instrument Microphone features a proprietary variable control for selecting or blending tone and pickup patterns with two distinctly different capsules.
It is flat-faced for side address pickup techniques; the crossfade knob allows blends Capsule 1’s super-cardioid large diaphragm for “ambient and naturalistic room tone,” offers MXL.
Meanwhile, Capsule 2’s cardioid small capsule provides rejection of monitors and/or stage volume. Its flat-face design also allows for optimal placement directly on guitar cabinets and provides comparably higher SPL tolerance for horns and drums.
Other features include an all-metal body construction and internal MOGAMI wiring.
