Las Vegas, NV (April 10, 2013)—Neumann has launched its new KH 310 A studio monitors. This monitor will be on display at the 2013 NAB Show (booth C3217).
The KH 310 is based around newly-developed drivers housed in a sealed cabinet, and is designed as a near-field monitor for mixing and mastering, but can also be used as a front loudspeaker in medium-sized surround systems or as a rear loudspeaker for larger multi-channel systems.
The bass driver provides response down to 34 Hz, according to Neumann, achieved using a sealed cabinet design that aims to provide “extremely fast” transient response. The mid-frequencies are reproduced by a dedicated soft dome midrange driver, while the high frequencies are handled by an alloy fabric dome in an elliptical Mathematically Modeled Dispersion waveguide.
Three AB amplifiers and the SMPS power supply deliver high headroom, and with the acoustical controls for bass, low-mid and high frequencies, the KH 310 A is intended to be a problem solver for acoustically challenging environments such as edit suites and OB vans.
