New York, NY (December 8, 2020)—With streaming on its endless rise due to the pandemic, live consoles that can handle streaming production are likewise increasingly popular. With that in mind, Allen & Heath has introduced a new MADI Option Card for the SQ desk.
Joining the existing Dante, SLink and WAVES option cards, the 64×64 MADI (48/96 kHz) interface enables a variety of possibilities for integration with broadcast and recording systems, OB vans and third-party consoles for high-channel count feeds over coaxial cables.
Two BNC inputs pair with two BNC outputs to allow for split or redundant setups while a dual function (in/out) BNC Wordclock connection enables the console to be either lead or supplicant desk in the system.
“With its easy USB streaming and Dante options, SQ is already an ideal console for pro streaming and AV production applications where there’s a need for big features in a compact footprint,” opined Keith Johnson, SQ product manager. “Now, answering calls from broadcast engineers, the new SQ MADI card allows more pro broadcast applications to benefit from SQ’s powerhouse feature set and super-fast workflow.”
The SQ MADI option card is expected to ship this month, with a recommended retail price of $599 USD.
