Brno, Czech Republic (September 1, 2020)—Audified has released its new VocalMint Compressor plug-in, a new one-knob multi-stage compressor added to its line of “voice tools.”
According to Audified, the multi-stage compressor plug-in can be used for a specific vocal recording-related task, building up a complete compression chain for a vocal track by using its intuitive user interface of a single knob.
The VocalMint Compressor compresses a track by running it through a virtual signal chain to tune multiple parameters of the voice at once. The plug-in itself comprises three different compressors, including an analog-styled stage based on a model of a real valve circuit. Sequenced as Smash, the self-explanatory Valve, and Multi-band, together they reportedly combine to provide processing to tackle compression problems typically associated with the human voice. The third compression stage delivers EQ shaping attributes, as does the valve circuit model. The shaping has been pre-tuned by Audified at source.
The VocalMint Compressor’s plug-in menu can be opened to reveal additional controls such as a zoom option or dBU/dBFS calibration. Acting as an operation point setting for the compressors themselves, the latter influences the amplitude at which compression starts to become more substantial. Set at 0.0 dBFS, the plug-in will apply less compression than when calibrated at -24.0 dBFS. That said, the factory default setting is -9.0 dBFS.
VocalMint Compressor can be directly downloaded as an AAX, AU, VST2, VST3 64-bit native plug-in for macOS (10.9 and above) and an AAX, VST2, VST3 32- and 64-bit native plug-in for Windows (7, 8, and 10) — alongside demo versions — from Audified. It does not require an iLok.
The VocalMint Compressor is available for $79.00 USD from Audified’s online shop.
