Bucks County, PA (September 15, 2020) — D.W. Fearn / Hazelrigg Industries has announced several updates to its VT Series of tube microphone preamplifiers, equalizers, and compressors.
The newly updated VT-2 Dual-Channel Vacuum Tube Microphone Preamplifier, appropriate for recording, mixing, and mastering, now features an integrated, switchable 43 dB pad, enabling it to be patched into the Master Buss during mixdown and mastering to add the company’s trademark sonic signature to the final mix or mastering process. This replaces the need for the LP-1 Line pad, which was a separate box previously available from D.W. Fearn.
Meanwhile, the VT-5 Dual Channel Vacuum Tube Equalizer and the VT-7 Dual Channel Vacuum Tube Microphone Compressor have reportedly each been optimized to eliminate the need for an internal fan. Like all D.W. Fearn products, both units incorporate a Class-A vacuum tube audio path, and are hand-built in the U.S.
“When we first introduced the VT Series, I knew I had created something really special,” remarked Doug Fearn, founder and designer. “I finally had a preamp that satisfied my own sonic requirements and it’s been fulfilling to know that our users agree. These updates are simply another step in ensuring that our offerings deliver the best sound quality, performance and reliability possible.”
The new VT-2, VT-5, and VT-7 are available now from D.W. Fearn / Hazelrigg Industries, at an MSRP of $5,500, $10,200, and $8,200, respectively.
