New York, NY (December 8, 2020)—Xvive Audio has unveiled the P1 Portable Phantom Power Supply, a lightweight phantom power supply for condenser microphones and other audio equipment requiring 48 or 12 volts.
Condenser microphones, as well as a wide variety of preamps, DI boxes and other audio gear, require phantom power in order to operate, so the P1 is intended to provide a solution whenever phantom power is unavailable. For example: when mixers or preamps don’t supply phantom power, or only do on a limited number of channels; when the phantom power becomes defective on a mixer or preamp; or when you want to use a condenser microphone with a portable audio recorder, but don’t want to drain the recorder’s batteries by using them up on phantom power.

The P1 runs on an internal lithium battery and a full charge can run a high-current condenser microphone for up to 40 hrs. It takes between 2.5 to 3 hours to charge using any 5V USB power source. A row of LEDs on the front face of the power supply indicates how much charge is left. The P1 is built in a metal housing that weighs 0.32 lbs.
While the P1’s onboard battery removes the limitations of having to connect to a power source, it also eliminates the possibility of ground loops in a user’s signal. That said, the unit can operate while connected to power.
The P1 Portable Phantom Power Supply is available now at $49.99 USD.
