The HP-800s feature a die-cast aluminum frame, which reportedly minimizes resonance and improves articulation. The headphone’s 40mm neodymium drivers are specifically tuned in an effort to achieve accurate performance and low distortion. The end result, says the company is "extreme dynamic, strikingly fast transients and a flat frequency response."

Designed to be worn for long hours of playback, the HP-800 headphones sport breathable memory-foam ear cups, covered in soft leatherette. Similarly, the concave body design is said to have been optimized for comfort and a lifelike soundstage and imaging.

The HP-800s include two removable cables of audiophile-grade OFC copper conductors and gold plated 6.3mm connectors. The cables can be removed from the headset for portability and exchangeability in the event of cable damage during a monitoring session.
