UK-based Nugen Audio’s Stereopack 2 plug-in suite features three of their most popular software tools, Stereoizer, Monofilter and Stereoplacer (pictured) at a web-only price of $199. Available in RTAS, VST and AU formats for Mac or PC, Stereopack packs a punch, offers PAR Contributor Ian Schreier, according to his full review of Stereopack 2 in our upcoming March 2012 issue.
Nugen explains Stereoizer as “adding natural sounding width and enhancement to any audio source, mono or stereo, leaving the inherent character of the original source intact. Stereoizer makes your audio more coherent, highly polished and spatially balanced without adding artificial reverberation, chorusing or delay.” The intuitive Monofilter is more of a “bass tool,” offers Nugen, as it “grabs hold of your bass and secures it solidly within your mix.” Finally, Stereoplacer is pan control that “has come of age.” Simply “choose the frequencies you want to fix and move them,” then leave the rest of the stereo image intact.
