Wilmington, DE (March 9, 2012)—Pro audio plug-in company Plugin Alliance has released the Mäag Audio EQ4, that company’s first plug-in.
The plug-in models Mäag’s EQ4 (500 Series) one-channel, six-band equalizer as a Mac OS X-, Windows- and VENUE-compatible (VST 2.4, VST 2.3, RTAS, AU, AAX) plug-in.
The Mäag Audio EQ4’s band-pass filters–Air Band boost-only shelf at 2.5, 5, 10, 20 or 40 kHz; 2.5 kHz fixed boost and cut shelf; 650 Hz fixed boost and cut bell; 160 Hz fixed boost and cut bell; 40 Hz fixed boost and cut bell; Sub/10 Hz fixed boost and cut bell–all interact with each other; increasing the Air Gain (+15 dB) also slightly increases the overall gain as the Air Band interacts (sums) with the other band-pass filters.
Both the original EQ4 and its spinoff plug-in aim to compensate for added overall gain by lowering the five band-pass potentiometers in equal amounts to “ensure the EQ remains the same shape, yet lower the overall gain.”
Available in 64- and 32-bit versions, Mäag Audio EQ4 can be purchased and downloaded for $229.
