Baton Rouge, LA (May 24, 2017)—PreSonus has released version 3.5 software for its Studio One DAW, ready for Mac or Windows OS operation. The update, which the company calls “extensive,” featuring 60 new features and enhancements, including several of the most requested features from Studio One users. The update is free for registered Studio One 3 owners.
First, Version 3.5 introduces native low-latency software monitoring; when used with a high-speed audio interface (such as the PreSonus’s Quantum), Studio One v3.5 allows users to stay in the native processing domain throughout the production process. The reported result is faster performance and better stability, including Dropout Protection that reduces the risk of audio dropouts in CPU-heavy songs, even at small buffer settings.
PreSonus reports that native low-latency software monitoring works on virtual instruments (VIs), too, allowing them to be played live with generally “unnoticeable latency.”
Other enhancements in include Studio One 3.5 Professional include revamped Project page with file-independent track markers, loudness detection updates with updated Peak/Loudness level meter, and loudness results display; Undo Faders, a user-requested update; the new Fat Channel XT plug-in, enabling StudioLive Series III mixer users to transfer complete mix scenes, including Fat Channel settings, to Studio One and back; further integration between Studio One and Notion scoring applications, and much more.
