PreSonus Releases Studio One 2.5

Baton Rouge, LA (December 4, 2012)—PreSonus has released Studio One 2.5, an update to version 2 of its DAW, providing bug fixes and a reported 100 enhancements and features, according to the company. The update is available immediately and is free to all Studio One users.

Among the various additions to Studio One, PreSonus highlighted its comping improvements, with the addition of single-swipe comping with automatic beaming into parts in an effort to speed up comping. Other changes include Folder Track Editing, allowing users to edit directly on the Folder Track, with a waveform preview for all tracks in the folder; Multitrack transform for virtual instruments; and a “completedly overhauled” Ampire XT.

PreSonus also cited, enhancements to automation and audio export; re-recording from buses; drag-and-drop event effects; Wet/Dry Mix and Mix Lock for effects; and legato and overlap correction (MIDI).

In addition, all Studio One Producer and Professional users can download a free copy of Softube's Saturation Knob plug-in., provided in a Studio One Extension. It is not necessary to create a Softube account or authorize the plug-in.
