Amsterdam, Netherlands (January 25, 2017)—A showcase of AoIP protocol interoperability has been announced for Amsterdam’s upcoming ISE 2017 featuring RAVENNA and AES67. In partnership with the MNA (Media Networking Alliance), a RAVENNA demo rack will be used to demonstrate such AES67 interoperability via products from Lawo, Ward-Beck, ARG, Cordial, Riedel, Merging, DirectOut, Digigram and Cymatic Audio, all topped by a Genelec 8430IP monitor pair for playback. This is part of a larger setup to demonstrate AES67 interoperability between products using other network technologies including LiveWire, QLAN and Dante.
At the heart of the system is a Lawo broadcast console with a RAVENNA systems core, acting as a junction point to receive streams from the other network technology racks which will then be played out via the Genelec speakers.
The RAVENNA rack includes a PC CPU loaded with a Digigram LX-IP AoIP multichannel sound card and the RAVENNA Virtual Sound Card running a web browser for configuration and monitoring of all RAVENNA devices. The PC is also running the recently released and free RAV2SAP converter, enabling the exchange of SDP data between devices utilizing different network technologies, in particular RAVENNA and Dante.
