New York, NY (July 25, 2017)—RØDE Microphones has announced a new on-camera product: the VideoMic Pro+ capsule/line tube and windshield.
The microphone sits upon a Rycote Lyre suspension system onboard and the new edition sports a number of new power-related features, including an Automatic Power Function that automatically turns the microphone off when unplugged from the camera. Other power options include an all-new and included RØDE LB-1 Lithium-Ion rechargeable battery or use of AA batteries or power via Micro USB. The mic also has a new built-in battery door.
The VideoMic Pro+ also now offers Digital Switching, which includes a two-stage high pass filter to reduce low frequencies such as rumble from traffic or air conditioning; three-stage gain control, with +20 dB function, aiming to improve audio quality on DSLR or mirrorless cameras; a high frequency boost to boost high frequencies in an effort to improve detail and clarity; and a safety channel to help ensure the signal does not clip when unexpected spikes occur.
The VideoMic Pro+ ships with the LB-1 Lithium-Ion rechargeable battery, 3.5 mm TRS cable and Micro USB cable.
