Rohnert Park, CA (March 29, 2017)—To be unveiled at Musikmesse 2017 in Frankfurt, Germany, sE Electronics has announced its X1 S, an updated version of the X1 large diaphragm condenser (LDC) microphone, which originally debuted in 2010. The X1 S includes expanded features and an overhauled circuit design paired with a new gold-plated XLR connector.

The X1 S provides two low-cut filters, switchable between 80 Hz and 160 Hz, and two attenuation pads, at -10 dB and -20 dB; the original X1 featured a single filter and single pad. The X1 S’s all-metal chassis now matches the satin black aesthetic of sE’s X1 A.

Marking this product launch, sE has also updated its X1 S Vocal Pack—including sE’s Isolation Pack shockmount, pop shield and 10-foot XLR cable—and the X1 Studio Bundle including the same Isolation Pack shockmount, pop shield, 10-foot XLR cable as well as sE’s RF-X Reflexion Filter.

According to sE, the X1 S will be available in May 2017 with a suggested retail price of $249, shipping with a newly redesigned mic clip and mic stand thread adapter. Also available in May, the X1 S Vocal Pack and X1 S Studio Bundle will have a suggested retail price of $299 and $399, respectively.
