New York, NY (September 2, 2016)—Shure is now shipping its SE215m + Special Edition (SE215m+SPE) Sound Isolating Earphones; the product, though primarily built for consumer listening and communications, promises useful applications for budget-restricted pro audio types, too, priced at $119.
Designed for use with iOS devices, the SE215m+SPE features a three-button communication pod for device playback, volume adjustment and the sending or receiving of calls. It also includes a microphone for calls and voice control apps.
The SE215m+SPE earphones ship with a detachable, replaceable Remote + Mic Accessory Cable.
The exciting aspect of the SE215m+SPE is that it incorporates isolation technology originally developed in Shure’s pro audio sector; employing its reportedly-comfortable Sound Isolating sleeves, the SE215m+SPE blocks up to 37 dB of outside noise, and Shure reports “the headset reproduces uncolored, artifact-free sound.”
The SE215m+SPE is a single driver IEM, utilizing Shure’s dynamic MicroDriver featuring notable bass extension, featuring an acoustic network tuned for extended bass performance and certain ergonomic design points to insure user comfort.
