Niles, IL (September 14, 2011)—Shure’s new PSM 1000 dual-channel, networkable, personal monitoring system is now shipping.
The PSM 1000 system builds on the PSM 900 Personal Monitor System, while adding numerous new features:
The PSM 1000 System reportedly provides 72 megahertz tuning bandwidth and allows up to nine systems to operate in one TV channel, and up to 39 systems in one frequency band. The system is also backward-compatible with PSM 900 components.
The P10R Diversity Receiver includes a pair of detachable antennas. “Using two identical antennas is essential to consistently deliver the benefits that diversity operation can provide,” said Matt Engstrom, Category Director for Monitoring Products at Shure. “Users who are accustomed to the bursts of static and dropouts common in other systems will be amazed by the PSM 1000’s performance.”
The receiver also enacts a full bandwidth scan in an effort to find clear, compatible frequencies and provides a graphic spectrum plot viewable from the screen; and can include optional rechargeable Lithium-ion batteries that are said to provide up to eight hours of operation and recharge fully in three hours.
The P10T Transmitter is a full rack, dual-channel wireless transmitter housed in a touring-grade, all-metal chassis. It sports an internal power supply that supports daisy-chaining and includes networked control via Ethernet.
The PSM 1000 carries a two-year limited warranty and can be purchased at select retail partners.
