Putnam, CT (March 2, 2016)–Rational Acoustics will release Smaart v8, a major update of the long-running loudspeaker system analysis and optimization software, on March 15, 2016.
“Since the release of Smaart v.7 in 2010 we have learned a tremendous amount about what features are important to users in a multi-measurement capable environment, and how they integrate Smaart into the workflow of their daily audio engineering tasks.” says Jamie Anderson, Rational Acoustics CEO.
With that in mind, the software has been designed with the aim of providing expanded control of the software environment, along with more streamlined measurement configuration, control and data handling. Key to that, the software is “…breaking out of the single-window, fixed-GUI world,” said Anderson.
New features will include a tab-based interface along with multi-window capability; touchscreen-friendly user-configurable command buttons; intuitive measurement configuration; the ability to hide or show interface control bars; broadband metering for all input devices; integrated control for the Smaart I-O; Smaart-to-Smaart API remote control; improved performance on recent operating systems; and more.
Smaart v8 will be available for purchase starting March 15th via the Rational Acoustics online store and authorized dealers. For the first 90 days after release, new licenses of Smaart v8 will be available for the existing Smaart v.7 price of $895 and early-adopter discounts will be available for upgrades from Smaart v.5, v.6, v.7 and v.7 Di. Anyone who purchased Smaart v.7 after December 31, 2015 will receive a free upgrade to Smaart v8 upon its release.
