New York, NY (February 10, 2017)—Soundelux USA will release its new U99 multi-pattern tube microphone in March, intended for studio recording of vocals, acoustic instruments and drums, as well as ADR and voice-over work.
The U99 sports a k67 dual symmetrical backplate dual membrane capsule, along with the signature Soundelux USA “fat” switch featured on the U195 microphone and a new high frequency “boost-flat-cut” switch.
A “new old stock” tube and true linear high current power supply are part of the mic. The electronics circuit differs from the vintage 67 in its departure from non-removable frequency shaping components and the removal of gain controlling negative feedback. It also features a larger output transformer in an effort to increase the low frequency headroom.
The Soundelux USA U99 is handmade in the USA by David Bock. The mic comes with its own proprietary N470 power supply, six pin XLR cable, and bottom thread shock mount. The mic will debut next month with an MSRP of $2,599.
