SSL Unveils Nucleus2, AWS 948 delta

Los Angeles, CA (September 28, 2016)—Solid State Logic has announced two new work surfaces to be showcased at the 141st AES Convention in Los Angeles: the latest version of its Nucleus DAW controller (pictured) and AWS 948 delta, its updated midsized analog console/DAW controller.

Shipping in November 2016, Nucleus2 is a new update of its DAW controller, audio interface and studio monitoring hub aimed at in-the-box producers. While it offers multi-DAW control, SSL mic pres, DAW I/O and studio monitoring, the new edition adds talkback, main/mini monitor switching, a change to Dante connectivity and more.

The Talkback input provides adjustable gain that feeds the headphone output. A large Talk button is added near the transport controls and the talk circuit can trigger a switchable -20 dB DIM in the monitor outputs if desired.Nucleus2 also provides a second set of speaker outputs and a ‘Mini’ monitor button in the center section for comparing mixes.

In addition to its 2015-gained delta-Control, AWS 948 delta is augmented by Stereo Channel Output rear panel connections; independent insert In/Out switching on In-Line channels via soft key its the small screen Chan Setup page; and enhanced graphics. All new AES consoles built from October 2016 forward will include the new software and hardware features.
