New York, NY (September 13, 2016)—Studer has announced its new Glacier Series of customizable audio control surfaces, intended for broadcast and production facilities. Comprised of two modules and a multi-touch GUI, the Glacier Series is compatible with current and previous Studer DSP platforms, but aims to allow facilities to deploy customized control surfaces that only include necessary controls as per the task at hand.
The Studer Glacier Series includes two simplified physical surfaces that provide streamlined controls for live operation. The Central Screen Module features a display for assigning and accessing graphical user interface controls. The Fader Vistonics Module provides tactile control for multitasking and features Studer FaderGlow for function or channel identification. Each module is a self-contained unit that connects to the Studer DSP Core via TCP/IP. Multiple modules can be connected together to create customized surfaces as needed.
All other controls are provided virtually via the multi-touch graphical user interface. The GUI can be personalized to match the technical requirements of each user. More technical users can view as many detailed controls as they wish, while the less experienced can create simpler interfaces with only the functions and controls they need. The GUI also hosts control interfaces for additional studio equipment, including broadcast automation, codec management, content management systems and more.
The Glacier Series also features forwards and backwards compatibility with Studer SCore Live and the latest Infinity Core DSP platforms.
