New York, NY (July 14, 2016)—Southern California-based Vanguard Audio Labs’ first product, the Vanguard V13 large-diaphragm tube condenser microphone, is now shipping, priced at $699. The V13 is a nine polar-patterned, 1.34-inch dual-capsuled microphone featuring a -10 dB pad, high-pass filter (at 125 Hz, 6 dB per octave) and a hand-selected, European-sourced vacuum tube; patterns are selectable at the included PS-13 power supply.
Key specifications include a 1.04-inch diaphragm, 134 dB maximum SPL (144 dB with pad engaged) and a 1.07 lb. weight (mic only) with dimensions of 8.18” x 1.98” (length and diameter, respectively).
Also included in the V13 package is the notable VLSM shockmount made with “aerospace-grade” o-rings, padded pinewood storage box, locking aluminum carrying case and 7-pin braided mic cable. The V13 comes with a five-year limited warranty for US-based customers.
With final assembly and comprehensive testing before shipping from California, the V13 is comprised of premium-grade, globally-sourced components, confirms the company.
