Escondido, CA (July 26, 2017)—VUE Audiotechnik has unveiled the h-208, a low vertical profile loudspeaker intended for low-ceiling applications or use as a stage monitor.
The two-way h-208 sports a custom 3-inch diameter, large-format compression driver with a Truextent beryllium diaphragm and Neodymium magnet, chosen to reportedly provide better high-frequency extension and response linearity than more traditional aluminum or titanium-based designs. The loudspeaker also employs a 70° x 45° (H x V) horn, a pair of custom 8-inch transducers with 3-inch voice coils, an impregnated linen surround and curvilinear cone.
Inside, a 64-bit digital processor handles EQ, time alignment, crossover management, speaker protection, and complete SystemVUE network control and monitoring functions. Dante connectivity is built in. A Class D amplifier delivers 1,600 watts LF, and 275 watts HF power long-term with more than 3,000 watts burst output.
The loudspeaker is constructed inside a birch enclosure that includes integrated M10 hanging points and a powder coated grill. A U-bracket yoke is provided as standard for installation and aiming. The h-208 also features a built-in stand mount for portable applications.
