Colorado Springs, CO (December 17, 2013)—In-ear monitor design company Westone has launched the latest update for its Elite Series of high performance earphones for music professionals. It has also released a new UM Pro Series headphones for on-stage monitoring.
The E-Series 10, 20, 30 and 50 in-ear monitors use Westone’s custom True-Fit technology to provide the user with earpieces that are cast, sculpted and polished by hand from actual impressions of the individual’s ears.
The E-Series features Westone’s proprietary balanced armature drivers—the ES10 has a single armature driver, while the ES20/30/50 feature multiple balanced armature drivers with multistage crossover designs.
e E-Series custom fit in-ear monitors include a two-material approach to the monitor design. It consists of a flex canal, a body temperature-reactive, semisoft earpiece canal additive that reportedly provides increased comfort and acoustic seal for stronger noise isolation, along with a cold-pour acrylic earpiece housing for increased durability and enclosure stability.
Westone’s Dual Bore technology allows for the IEM’s high and low frequency sound components to be channeled through separate passages in the sound port and sum within the user’s ear canal instead of the earpiece. This approach is said to result in a more convincing and transparent transition between frequency ranges.
The UM Pro 10 is intended for on-stage monitoring for any level of musician, the UM Pro 20 is aimed for on-stage monitoring for drummers, vocalist and bass players, and the UM Pro 30 is the reference product for on-stage monitoring and home or studio recording.
