Buena Park, CA (February 22, 2017)—Yamaha is now shipping its new HPH-MT5 and HPH-MT8 studio monitor headphones, reportedly inspired by the company’s legendary NS-10M studio monitor.

The headphones are said to produce a frequency-flat response and precise stereo imaging with a high level of isolation.

The MT5 and MT8 feature custom 40mm and 45mm drivers with 20 Hz to 20 kHz and 15 Hz to 28 kHz frequency responses, respectively, built with copper-clad aluminum wire voice coils and neodymium magnets. The MT5 is also available in white as the MT5W.

Yamaha touts the MT8 as its “most accurate headphone set ever offered.” Other features of the MT8 include a detachable straight 10-foot cable and coiled 5-foot cable, corrosion-resistant gold-plated stereo mini plug and quarter-inch stereo adapter.

The HPH-MT5/HPH-MT5W is priced at $99 street; the HPH-MT8 is priced at $199 street.
