‘Above and beyond’ redesign planned for DJ arena at BPM Pro show

BPM Pro has announced new plans for its Chauvet DJ arena ahead of this year event on 22-23 October at Birmingham’s Genting Arena.

Organisers Marked Events has designed an extending overhead structure that covers the audience in pixel-mapped effects to “take the arena beyond anything the company has done” in previous years.

“We’ve not done a design like this before, so I’m really looking forward to it being implemented,” explained Marked’s European product specialist Toby Freeman.

“The structure will reach out over the crowd to provide a more powerful presence, and we’re also dressing more of the truss with products in order to make every aspect of the structure a feature,” he added. “The visuals won’t just be about the beams but also about how the products display themselves.”

Many of the fixtures used inside the Chauvet DJ Arena will also be featured on Chauvet’s exhibitor stand, where the company’s ‘Play Podiums’ will allow visitors to try out products for themselves.

Part of the stand will also be dedicated to demonstrating the Sound Switch – Chauvet DJ’s new hardware/software bundle – that lets DJs and lighting designers create DMX displays that can be played back in time with audio files in Serato DJ.

BPM Pro is a two-day event with a focus on consumers and trade members from across the entertainment technology industry. Tickets are on sale now.
