Modular line array

What is it?A modular 2-way column speaker designed for use as a vertical array system in permanent and portable applications. DetailsThe QR24 is said to combine natural, dynamic sound reproduction, enhanced intelligibility and throw – even in acoustically challenging environments. Due to its modularity, low-frequency directivity and throw can be increased simply by extending the array length; multiple individual mid-high frequency lobes can be created using QM low/mid-fill columns. Only 66cm in height, the QR24 is fitted with 4 x 6.5” woofers and two 12” pro-ribbon RBN drivers developed specifically for the system. By using only two RBN drivers, the system’s active frontal radiation is close to 90%, resulting in a sharply-controlled vertical dispersion and improved SPL-independent intelligibility over distance, without the need for DSP-based beam shaping. The symmetrical acoustic design combined with patented horizontal dispersion of the RBN HF drivers offers a coherent horizontal pattern control with seamless coverage said to significantly widen the stereo sweet spot for the members of the audience in the off-axis position. The projection pattern in the horizontal/non-coupling plane is 80º (-6dB) and in the vertical/coupling plane, is 6º (single column). Each 12” RBN driver has a peak power handling of 2kW, creating a virtually infinite system headroom of 4kW from 1kHz up. Frequency response is quoted as 74Hz to 20kHz (-3dB), making it easy to match with a subwoofer system and catering for a relatively simple bi-amped, three-way system. The relatively flat frequency response and fast transient response of the RBN transducers – in combination with the sharply controlled dispersion – offers a maximum ‘gain-before-feedback’ position up to directly in front of/under the system.And another thing…The QR24 is powered and controlled by the Sentinel amplified speaker controller offering QR24-specific drive processing for optimal response, reliability user-friendliness.
