Yamaha Commercial Audio has revealed that sales manager Karl Christmas is to move to a position within Yamaha Corporation of Japan, with Terry Murphy taking his position as sales manager for Yamaha Music Europe in the United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland.
Christmas (right) , who joined Yamaha in 1988, was named UK and ROI sales and marketing manager in July 2014 (see Yamaha debuts new UK Commercial Audio team), with Murphy (left) also appointed southern UK and ROI sales representative at the same time.
Christmas’s new role, in Yamaha’s global pro-audio technical marketing group at the company’s R&D centre in London, will see him supporting the expansion of Yamaha’s commercial installation system (CIS) business around the world.
“Karl is leaving big shoes to fill, but Terry is an outstanding replacement,” says Robert Webster, sales and marketing director for Yamaha Music Europe (UK)’s professional music division. “I am sure he will prove just as successful as in his previous roles at Yamaha, and look forward to his input into our continued success and growth.
Yamaha also recently appointed Christoph Stepan (pictured) to the position of product manager, post-production. Stepan’s job will be to develop the customer base for the company’s integrated Nuage studio system, which combines Yamaha hardware with the Steinberg Nuendo DAW software (see Yamaha console starts Nuage movement).
Step built his first studio in his early twenties and still co-runs Chameleon Studios, one of Hamburg’s oldest recording facilities.
