d&b audiotechnik CEO calls for industry unity amid coronavirus outbreak

CEO Amnon Harman says operation remain strong despite the spread of Covid-19

d&b audiotechnik CEO Amnon Harman has called for the industry to come together in a statement addressing the coronavirus outbreak and its impact on the market.

The statement issued this morning (March 19) outlines the measures the company is taking to keep staff and industry partners safe and highlights the need for us to “get through this together”. Harman also states that d&b operations “remain strong” and that its manufacturing “remains normal”.

Meanwhile, a series of free interactive online webinars will be launched in the coming days covering a variety of different topics. All in-person seminars and training sessions have been suspended indefinitely.

You can read Harman’s statement in full below, and an in-depth interview with Harman will feature in the upcoming April edition of PSNEurope, out on March 26.

A message to the d&b audiotechnik family:

d&b , it is just that – a family made up of employees, partners, customers and the pro audio world. The health, safety and wellbeing of this family is our priority, now, as always.

Several weeks ago I set up a COVID-19 task force at d&b to monitor the developing global situation. We are following the information provided by public health agencies including the WHO and relevant regional and local public health organizations. Utilizing their official guidance, we are taking all necessary steps to protect our employees and our partners and customers.

For our global employees, were possible, we are supporting mobile working. We have taken extra steps for health and safety in our production facility in Germany. For the pro audio community, we are creating a series of free interactive online webinars on a range of topics which will begin streaming this week. We are suspending all onsite seminars and trainings until further notice.

This is a rapidly changing situation impacting all of us. The cancelation and postponement of concerts, theater productions, cinemas, trade shows, and other large events is a difficult reality – not only for our industry, but in how it impacts our culture and day-to-day life. That said, we absolutely recognize that these moves are necessary to manage the spread of the virus.

From a business standpoint, d&b operations remain strong and our manufacturing operations remain normal.

I want to assure everyone that as a global company we are doing all we can to stay informed, take all necessary precautions, and work with our employees, industry partners and other stakeholders to help assure their health, safety and wellbeing.

Since physical distancing will be key to stopping the spread of the virus, I encourage you to – make a call or video chat with a friend, family or co-worker. These are challenging times and emotional wellbeing is just as important as physical.

I want to thank everyone for their cooperation during these unusual times. We will continue to monitor and share information as it is available. Only by communicating, working together, and watching out for each other, can we move through and past this extraordinary global crisis.

Thank you for your continued support. We will get through this, together. And when all of this is over we are still there to “make the world sound better”!

Stay healthy and in good mood! More art, less noise!
