€1m investment in Ecler following liquidation option

The injection of capital will fund "an ambitious programme of product development"

Barcelona pro-audio brand Ecler is under new ownership as of 1 December 2014.

The sale to Banyoles-based NEEC Audio Barcelona includes Ecler’s staff and management under the leadership of Enric Casimiro, who will continue to run the business. The company filed for voluntary bankruptcy in November 2014. (At the time, although the company said it had opted for liquidation, it was expected to be “reborn” with a then un-named investor.)

NEEC Audio Barcelona was founded in July and describes its business activities as “research, design, development, production, import and export [and] marketing, wholesale and retail, [of] all types of household equipment, software, components and systems [and] audiovisual products”.

NEEC says it “intends to invest in innovation in the pro-audio field, and to ensure that the Ecler brand is associated with both advanced technology and excellent design”.

As a result of the acquisition, Ecler, which this year celebrates its 50th birthday, received a €1million (£782,000) injection of capital from NEEC, used to fund “an ambitious programme of product development […] and to enable it to expand its business”. The new products will debut at Integrated Systems Europe in Amsterdam next month.
