Encore, again: Neve upgrades automation

Automation throughput which is three times greater than that offered by the previous edition is among the feature-set of Encore2 v7 - the latest version of the Encore automation system for AMS Neve's DFC and 88D consoles.

AMS Neve has announced the availability of Encore2 v7 – the latest version of the Encore automation system for its DFC and 88D consoles.

Along with a major upgrade in processing capability for USP systems, the update heralds access to several new configuration options, including 3D surround formats. There are also a number of improvements to the boot-up process, saving options and metering.

Specific enhancements include: automation throughput that is now three times greater than v6, with a theoretical maximum of five million events per mix/pass (up from 1.5m); Dolby 7.1 surround panning priority control to optimise front/back power or left/right power; sub level control with surround routes; support for 3D surround formats – going beyond 7.1 to work with various 9.1, 10.1 and 11.1 set-ups; a master meter display that is fully assignable as 16 separate meter locations; and a UK-style PPM meter scale option.
