Vicoustic opens new logistics facility

Portuguese prime minister, Dr. Pedro Passos Coelho, toured the newly built logistics facility at Paços de Ferreira with Vicoustic founders Cesar Carapinha and Jorge Castro.

Lisbon-based acoustic solutions manufacturer Vicoustic recently opened their new logistics facility in the north of Portugal at Paços de Ferreira. The Portuguese prime minister, Dr. Pedro Passos Coelho (pictured, right), toured the newly built premises with Vicoustic founders Cesar Carapinha (pictured, far left) and Jorge Castro (pictured, centre). The new logistics centre consists of 1500 sq m of warehousing with two loading docks, two showrooms and a research and development centre. The latter has a laboratory with a variable volumetric room for low frequency analysis that can be transformed into either an anechoic or reverberant chamber. A dedicated team led by warehouse manager João Coelho staffs the logistics facility. Vicoustic’s sales and marketing activities continue to be based in Charneca da Caparica near Lisbon. The new facility reflects Vicoustic’s continuing growth in the architectural and industrial sectors, as well as work in the music, broadcast and hi-fi markets. Carapinha, CEO of Vicoustic said: “Our new logistics centre has been a huge project to undertake, but it is guaranteed to increase our efficiency in delivering a rapidly developing product range to a worldwide customer base. It was a great honour for us to welcome Dr. Coelho to the official opening and we look forward to using the new facilities to their full capacity over the next few years.”
