Focusrite crowned with fourth Queen’s Award

Focusrite was presented with the Queen’s Award for Enterprise: Innovation, which is a highly respected award for British businesses

Focusrite has been honoured with its fourth consecutive Queen’s Award, for Enterprise: Innovation.

The Queen’s Award is a prestigious award given to both large and small British businesses and is recognised globally. Focusrite welcomed His Royal Highness, the Duke of Kent and distinguished guests to its Buckinghamshire headquarters for the ceremony.

The Award itself was announced in April 2018, in recognition of the innovations that have enabled the Focusrite Scarlett Range of audio interfaces to help musicians record themselves to a professional standard at an affordable price.

On receiving the Award, citation and commemorative vase, founder and chairman Phil Dudderidge thanked His Royal Highness, acknowledging that this award was for all of its employees, who had contributed not only to the success of the Scarlett Range, but to the company’s success as a whole.

Dudderidge said: “We’re delighted to receive this award for Scarlett. While the second generation of the Scarlett range provides the user with the best value and feature sets in the market at each price point, we set out to push the boundaries of the USB 2.0 interface performance to deliver the lowest latency possible between the computer and the device. More musicians record their music using a Focusrite Scarlett than any other brand of audio interface.”

This is the fourth Queen’s Award Focusrite has received and the second for Innovation, whilst the other two acknowledged the sustained growth of its international sales. The group sells about 85 per cent of its products outside the UK and comprises of the Focusrite, Focusrite Pro, Novation and Ampify brands.
