Music Venue Trust announces panel line-up for sold-out Venues Day event

Music Venue Trust has announced the final line up of speaker for its sold-out Venues Day 2017, taking place at Ministry of Sound on Tuesday, October 17.

Steve Lamacq from BBC6 Music will provide the welcome, with an opening panel presented by UK Music to discuss facts that matter to grassroots music venues and the artists who play there.

Other speaks include Frank Turner, Charlotte Brimner (Be Charlotte), Elijah (Butterz), Rhoda Dakar, John Robb (The Membranes), Tracey Wise (Safe Gigs for Women), David Bury (Supersonic Media), Remi Harris MBE and John Spellar MP.

Event producer Beverley Whitrick said: “Every venue should leave the event with new contacts and ideas they can use to make their own venue run a little better. Venues Day is not a talking shop, it’s designed specifically to help the members of the Music Venues Alliance connect with each other and supportive organisations, companies and individuals.”

For the fourth year in a row, Venues Day has sold out, with more than 200 venues from across the UK represented amongst the 500-plus delegates.

“Venues Day has quickly become the national event for Grassroots Music Venuessays Mark Davyd, Music Venue Trust CEO. “We really appreciate the support of all the venues from across the country and our sponsors and partners who have got behind this event and made it such a big day in the calendar.”
